Arrow Season 2 has been pretty good for Thea Queen so far. She has a job and a boyfriend, and her family life seems to be fairly stable.

That’s all going to change with the upcoming episode, “Deathstroke.” As actress Willa Holland puts it, “Life’s not easy for poor Thea” after this time. How bad is it going to get? How will Thea react? When Holland chatted with Zap2it recently, some answers emerged.

Zap2it: How is the “Deathstroke” episode going to go for Thea?
Willa Holland: I can say it’s a very, very intense one for Thea. There’s definitely a lot of stress going on in her world at the moment. We know that she gets kidnapped, and we definitely know that she’s in a state of major fear.

Does she even understand what’s happening?
I think that she’s very, very thrown and kind of confused, and she has all the right to be. There’s definitely a very confusing scenario. I think she’s a smart girl, so she starts putting things together — I mean, not everything — that Mr. Wilson’s not a nice guy. He’s probably dangerous, and she should probably not have got into the car with him.

She just has a history of making bad decisions, so there you go.

Is Thea’s captivity a purely physical situation, or is Slade going to try to mess with her emotions too?
There’s definitely going to be some twists in there. I think this episode is really meant to screw with Oliver. He has no idea what’s happening to Thea, so he’s thinking the worst the entire time. Slade is just trying to pull every string that he possibly can in the Queen family life. He’s just trying to pull it in the most demonic and painful way he can think is possible.

Where is Thea’s relationship with Roy at this point, and where is it going?
Thea obviously knows Roy is going through something insane, but she doesn’t know what it is. And she wants to know insanely badly. But realizing that the only way that she’s going to be able to maybe get him back in her life, she gives him his space right now. And right now, she’s kind of got a lot going on in her life. They’re both at a loss. It’s not like either one of them wanted this to happen. It’s just what’s happening.

How is the kidnapping — and everything that could happen around it — going to affect Thea?
She’s actually really strong. I think that she’s really, really strong. I think that she’s come a long, long way in the last year. She’s grown up a lot with a lot of responsibility. It’s been a lot of fun doing that with her. I think that right now, there’s these two things that are looming over her — one being the truth about Merlyn, and the other finding out the truth about Oliver. Those two things — God knows which one is going to spill out and where. But those two things, I think, are going to start chiseling down the pillar of health that she’s held onto for the last year.

I think has the right to act that way. I mean, her boyfriend just dumped her and if these huge things come to light? She just got kidnapped!

If Thea learns the truth about her paternity or about Oliver, how is she likely to react?
Regardless, either one would both be insane secrets that have been kept from her for longer periods of time than they should have been. Either one, they’re both paths that are going to lead to a pretty dark and gloomy place. I don’t think there’s a yellow brick road that leads to a rainbow for her.

Stuff’s going to go downhill and keep on rolling.
